Coronavirus update: 09/01/2021

Dear parishioners, we have changed the rules for attending services. For services within the Church, only 40 people can be into the upper church, and only 20 people into the lower church. Distance inside the church 1.5 - 2.0 m. One cannot expect communion outside the Church. On Sundays, you can come after the late service for communion and confession. Those who wish to receive the Holy Communion after the Liturgy must contact Fr. Vitaly 07935700721.

With the blessing of HE Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh (MP), on Saturday, June 3, from 9:30 am until the end of the Vigil service, our Cathedral will host a reliquary containing the sacred relics of St. Theophan the Recluse

**The Church will be open for the faithful to come and venerate the relics and at 4:00 pm an Akathist will be served before the relics. **

St. Theophan was born in 1815 and died in 1894. He was born as Georgy Vasilievich Govorov. His father was an Orthodox priest. The future Bishop studied at the Spiritual School of Livny, Theological Seminary of Orel and the Theological Academy of Kiev. In 1841, He took monastic vows with the name of Theophan, and in the same year he became hierodeacon and the hieromonk. Eighteen years later, then already Archimandrite Theophan, became the Bishop of Tambov.

He left a great legacy, written books about the spiritual life and faith. St. Theophan translated into Church Slavonic of the Philokalia. He rested peacefully 6 of January  1894, on the feast of the Epiphany. Vesting on his face beamed blissful smile. Buried in the Kazan Cathedral of the Vysha Monastery.
