Brompton Cemetery – Walking Tour

Saturday 29th April, 2023 Meet at 2 p.m. at the North Lodge, the main entrance on Old Brompton Road.

A free English-language walking tour will be led by historian Nicolas Mabin.

We shall explore the history of the émigré community of the Russian Orthodox in London while visiting the graves of prominent members of that community, all of whom lived and died in London during the 20th century.

These include Metropolitan Anthony Bloom and Archbishop Nikodem Nagieff, as well as a priest, a Church choir director, a former lady-in-waiting to the Tsaritsa-martyr Alexandra, an admiral and a famous balalaika-player.

Be prepared to be on your feet for up to 90 minutes.
