Archpriest Peter Baulk will lead a pilgrimage to Ely in Cambridgeshire and to Crowland Abbey in Lincolnshire on Saturday, 11th October. The coach will leave the Cathedral in Harvard Road at 7.30 a.m.. At about 10 a.m. the pilgrims will arrive in Ely where they will visit Ely Cathedral, which was founded by Saint Etheldreda, Queen and Abbess (d. 679), (also known as Saint Audrey) one of the most popular of the Anglo-Saxon saints. They will continue to the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Etheldreda in Ely where they will venerate the relics of Saint Etheldreda.
After a picnic lunch, the pilgrims will continue their journey to Crowland Abbey in Lincolnshire, where they will visit the Abbey, an ancient site of Christian worship. Leaving Crowland at about 2.30 p.m., the pilgrims will then return to Harvard Road Cathedral in time for the All-Night Vigil at 5 p.m.
The pilgrimage will cost £17 per person.
