Pilgrimage to St Albans

Dear Fathers, brothers, and sisters:

Following our last year pilgrimage to St Albans http://www.russianchurchlondon.org/pilgrimage-to-st-albans/, a number of you have expressed wishes to repeat this wonderful experience.  We are now happy to let you know that our next pilgrimage to St Alban, the Protomartyr of Britain, is planned for 16th March (Saturday).  As before, we are going to serve a moleben at the holy relic of the Saint (at his Shrine), this time from 11:00am till 11:30am.

Those of you who prefer to come with the main group (driving several cars), please be prepared to leave from our Cathedral in Chiswick at 9:00am. Since the hosts (St Albans Cathedral) are expecting to have a very tight timetable on the day of our visit, we cannot be late this time!  Unfortunately, at the moment we are not in a position to rent a bus for this trip, for which reason we are again planning to drive several cars.

The address of St Albans Cathedral and Abbey is  http://www.stalbanscathedral.org/
Sumpter Yard, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL1 1BY and
Phone: 01727 860780

Those who are planning to drive on their own may want to be reminded that the centre of St Albans is likely to get busy at the time of our visit. So, please plan your parking carefully, e.g. using http://www.stalbans.gov.uk/transport-and-streets/parking/Car-parks-in-St-Albans.

More information on getting to St Albans Cathedral, including by public transport,  can be found following this link http://www.stalbanscathedral.org/visit/planning-your-visit.    This site can also be useful for planning your trip by public transport  http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/ .

If someone is keen on getting a seat in a car, please email Alexey at moc.l1477142408iamg@1477142408okned1477142408yolok1477142408.yexe1477142408la1477142408     and he will try to put you in contact with the drivers who might have vacant seats. In your message, please include your contact phone number. Since most likely we will also be paying for parking, it is advisable that the passengers be prepared to contribute 5 pounds towards the costs of the trip.

St Albans Cathedral used to sell postcard style icons of the Saint.  On our last visit in November 2012, some of us had a privilege to have their newly bought icons blessed right at the holy relic of the Saint.

Finally, some of you may want to learn about the fellowship St Alban and St Sergius (of Radonezh) http://www.sobornost.org/

Holy Martyr Alban and Venerable Father Sergius, pray to God for us
